Kill
Hannah
"I like
them a lot, for many reasons. One of which being
[that] they don't sound like anyone else out right
now
they are a total breath of fresh air" ~ James
VanOsdol, Q101 Chicago
Kill
Hannah chariterizes their sound as "the future of
pop
neo-ziggy-stardust twist on huge 80's-reminiscent
melodic hooks with layered textures over big electronics,
and beautiful boy-girl vocals & professional radio
sensibility."
This
Chicago act was discovered through their first demo by
director John Hughes, put in the studio for album
work with Critter (NIN, Ministry, The Cure)
with Matt Walker (now of Smashing Pumpkins) on
drums, and encouraged to put a live band together. In the
fall of '95, Kerry Finerty left Giant/Warner's
Certain Distant Suns to become their lead
guitarist.
The
band has heavy rotation, charting, interviews and
performances on several CMJ -reporting college radio
stations. Two of their songs are featured on the soundtrack
of the feature film The Blank Page. Kill Hannah has
showcased at New Music Seminar (NY), Philadelphia
Music Conference (PA), Midwest Regional Music
Conference (MO), Macintosh New York Music Festival
(NY), Independent Label Festival (IL), Music
Over Business Festival (IL), Grammy showcase
(IL).
