The
distinctive slide guitar and voice of Gord
Cumming (The Lawn) join with female
vocals to create a haunting alt-country sound.
Other members have played in Hello Kitty and
U.I.C. A
lot of attention is being paid to this Toronto
group lately. Their unique sound has been compared
to The Mekons, The Velvet
Underground, and points in between. Influences
run the gamut from Hank to Hüsker
Dü, or anywhere good songs can be found
(remember songs?). Debuting in 2001, Precious
Little opened for Jon Langford and The
Rheostatics, showcased at the NXNE
festival and released a full-length album - all
in its first year. The album 100 Miles is
currently making inroads on the college radio
charts. Thursday
August 15 at 10:00 pm. with Noon
and Skitch. Tickets $6 at the
door. More info and
audio clips can be found at preciouslittle.ca
