Uisge beatha or usquebaugh are two different spellings of the old Gaelic term for "water of life." This, to English speaking people, sounded like "uishgi" and over time was corrupted to "whisky."

On the eve of American Thanksgiving we held a bourbon tasting on Wednesday November 23, 2005 to salute of some of our neighbours better attributes.

The tasting was held "blind" so that the reputation of the producer wouldn't affect the scores. Although Blanton's Gold Edition finished with top marks, the real find of the tasting was the Buffalo Trace which finished second but is almost one-third the price of the Blanton's.
